For many of you I know the holidays can be really challenging on an emotional level. You may tend to engage yourself in memories of years gone by and feel a sense of loneliness, failure, and even a longing to reconnect with loved ones who have been anything but loving towards you.
Let this letter serve as encouragement to focus your energy on what is yet to be created in your life rather than what is passing away. Birth, death and rebirth is an important part of the cycle of life and we witness it each season as the old gives way to the new. It is important in times of death and grieving that you trust in the process of life and know that a rebirth is at hand.
Being that it is Thanksgiving it is a great time to take a positive inventory of what you have to be thankful for in your life. Look at what is good and where the promise lies in your life. If you have a difficult time finding anything good start with the basics. You are alive! Maybe that doesn’t feel so good right now but if you were told you had only a day left to live you would probably find something to cherish about that final 24 hours of life. Sometimes it is good to simply give thanks for our eyes that allow us to see, our ears that allow us to hear, our legs that allow us to walk and our hands that allow us to hold. We often take these basic things for granted yet there are many among us who cannot walk, see or hear. If you have any or all of these basic abilities, give thanks!
If you have a roof over your head and food to eat for Thanksgiving Day, count your blessings! There are many this year who are on the streets and don’t have a warm bed to go home to or a hot meal on their plates on Thanksgiving Day. If you have even just a little bit extra you might consider donating a meal or two to a mission or homeless shelter. Often just a couple bucks will feed a person. Imagine how good it would feel to know that you are helping people who are more unfortunate than yourself to enjoy a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
Don’t forget your ability to love; the greatest gift of all! Not everyone has this ability, as you well know, and to love is a powerful act of kindness, compassion and empathy.
With the strong ability to love comes also an open heart and when our heart is open we often risk being wounded. Closing our hearts isn’t the answer! A heart that has been cracked open has even greater capacity to love. Love in itself doesn’t hurt us. It is our sense of worthlessness and inadequacy that stings. So as we practice holding greater and greater amounts of love in our hearts we can practice first extending that love to ourselves. It is important to find kindness and caring for the wounded inner child. It is important to love that part of us that feels unlovable.
In the sprit of giving and gratitude I wish you the very best and the most positive vision for the future.
The Rewind Technique for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
I am in the process of being certified as a "Rewind Technique" practitioner which is one of the most powerful methods available for overcoming Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Phobias. I have already been successfully using this technique with clients and having great results. This method has been found to be more successful than EMDR and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The Rewind Technique is a hypnotherapy technique that changes the way the brain processes the trauma and in only one session. Thats what is phenomenal! Most people experience lasting results in only one 90 minute session.
In effort to help victims of narcissistic abuse deal more affectively with PTSD I searched the world over for the best technique I could find and ended up chosing the Rewind Technique. Since I have already been a praciticing hypnotherapist since 1988 I was even more excited that this was a hypnosis technique. I am such a believer in the power of hypnosis to influence our reality.
I am now scheduling clients for this powerful technique which can be done easily over the phone. The introductory offer is only $75.00 for a full 90 minute session.
Go to the link below to schedule and pay for your session.
There once was a girl who was not satisfied with simple things. Her parents despaired of ever finding her a husband she would accept. Each man who came was not good enough. "That one was too fat; he will never do." Or "Did you see how shabby his moccasins were?" Or "I didn't like the way he spoke." Such were the things she would say.
One night, as the fire flickered low, a strange young warrior came to their door. "Dahjoh," said the mother. "come inside," but the visitor stood a the edge of the light and pointed his hand at the girl.
"I have come to take you as my wife," he said. Now this young man was very handsome. His face shone in the firelight. Above his waist was a fine, wide belt of black and yellow wampum that glittered like water. On his head he wore two tall feathers and he moved with the grace of a willow tree in the wind.
But the mother was worried. "My daughter," she said, "you would not take any of the men in our village. Would you marry a stranger whose clan you don't know?" Read More...
